You’ve spent years developing your expertise

Now develop the speaking ability to match it

You’ve built a reputation for being excellent at what you do. People trust your judgement, recommend your work and seek out your expertise.

Now you’re ready to take that expertise further.

You want to speak at conferences and share your ideas on bigger stages and you want to do it well.

Perhaps you’re already getting invited to speak. You’ve delivered workshops, appeared on panels, given presentations or spoken at industry events.

You’ve enjoyed it. You can see what’s possible for you, but you also know there’s another level to your speaking.

You want to command the stage, captivate audiences and deliver keynotes that move people. The kind of speaking people post about, talk about weeks later and recommend to others.

You want your reputation as a remarkable speaker to precede you

You want to:

  • Tell stories that make people lean in

  • Challenge people to think differently

  • Provide practical tools people can actually use

  • Bring humour and personality into your speaking, naturally

You want people to leave thinking differently, feeling differently and behaving differently.

In order to do that, you want to feel grounded and confident on stage, whether you’re speaking to 30 people, 300 or more.

And you want to do it in a way that feels natural rather than performative.

Imagine being so comfortable with your material and speaking style that you stop overthinking your delivery and start enjoying the art of expressing yourself and your expertise.

You’re ready to enjoy speaking

How would it feel if your preparation gave you the freedom to be present and engage with your audience rather than worry about how you come across?

What would your delivery be like if you knew your material so well that you could get out of your head and connect with your audience?

Imagine being able to lead the energy, adapt where necessary, respond to questions and follow an unexpected moment without losing your way.

How would you feel knowing that your expertise comes through, your personality shines and the audience gets to experience both.

That’s the kind of speaker I can help you become.

Introducing SpeakWell

An eight-week speaker development experience for accomplished experts who are ready to become exceptional speakers.

SpeakWell combines keynote development, storytelling, audience engagement and embodied speaking to help you develop your own compelling speaking style.

Together, we’ll turn your expertise into a signature keynote, develop the skills to deliver it with confidence and charisma and give you the opportunity to put everything you’ve learned into practice.

You’ll develop your keynote, have private rehearsals via zoom with me and deliver part of your talk at our in-person speaking event. The event will be professionally filmed and photographed so you walk away with video footage of your speech and professional photographs.

You’ll leave SpeakWell ready to take your expertise onto bigger stages, with a keynote you’re proud to deliver, the skills to captivate an audience and professional footage that shows event organisers what you’re capable of.

“I highly recommend working with Tamu”

I worked with Tamu on speaker messaging strategy and she helped me get to the parts of my brain that has been blocked for years. Following our work together, not only have my speaking bookings (and fees) increased, but the shape of my business has changed entirely through a new clarity and conviction.

I highly recommend working with Tamu - she is no nonsense and direct but with the wraparound care and follow through you need to actually make the ideas happen.

The Embodied Speaking Method

Great speaking starts with owning what you know and how you express it.

You already have the expertise. SpeakWell helps you develop the craft to communicate it in a way that feels natural, compelling and unmistakably you.

My Embodied Speaking Method is built around five interconnected elements:

Competence + Connection + Courage + Confidence = Charisma

You’ll strengthen your command of your material, discover how you naturally connect with an audience and develop the courage to experiment with your delivery.

Through practice, feedback and real speaking experience, you’ll build confidence in your ability to communicate your ideas and the freedom to express your personality.

The method is designed so you can develop your presence and the confidence to own it. This is not about speaking like a copy of someone else, it’s about being boldly you.

The result? You’re prepared enough to improvise, confident enough to be yourself and skilled enough to make your message memorable.

What happens when you join SpeakWell?

Eight weeks. Your signature keynote. Personal coaching. Experience yourself as a more articulate, eloquent and compelling speaker.

Develop a keynote that makes you memorable

You will create a signature keynote that brings together your best ideas, expertise and the stories that make you remarkable.

A talk you’re excited to deliver because it captures what you really want to say and gives your audience something worth remembering.

You’ll start developing your keynote in our first session. By the end of that week, you’ll have a complete first draft to work with.

Then the fun begins.

In the five weeks that follow, you’ll bring your keynote to life through storytelling, audience engagement and developing your voice, body language, humour and stage presence.

You’ll be speaking from day one, practicing every week and discovering just how compelling you can be when you stop concentrating on performing and start enjoying expressing yourself.

You can’t think your way into becoming an embodied speaker, you have to speak and that’s exactly what we’ll do.

Two private rehearsals with me

This is where we get into the details that can transform your delivery. cYou’ll have two private Zoom rehearsals with me, dedicated to you and your keynote.

I’ll give you personalised feedback on your delivery, presence, storytelling and audience connection.

We’ll identify what works brilliantly, refine what could be stronger and explore how to bring more of your personality into your speaking.

I’ll help you lean into your strengths and recognise what makes you charismatic so you can develop the qualities that make you compelling.

This isn’t about sounding like anyone else, it’s about you and your particular stage presence.

You’ll have the opportunity to experiment, receive my feedback and discover just how good your speaking can become.

Your moment on stage

We embody by doing. You will have the opportunity to experience yourself doing the very thing you’ve been working towards.

We’ll finish SpeakWell with an in-person showcase in London, where you’ll deliver a 10–15-minute segment of your keynote alongside your fellow participants.

This is your opportunity to put everything you’ve learned into practice, experience your new speaking skill in front of others and celebrate how far you’ve come.

And we’ll capture it professionally.

You’ll receive professional video footage and photographs of your speaking that you can use for your website, speaker profile, social media and future speaking opportunities.

Imagine watching that footage and seeing yourself as the compelling speaker you’ve been working towards becoming.

You will be able to show an event organiser exactly what you’re capable of, rather than simply telling them.

You’ll have a keynote you’re proud to deliver, speaking skills you can draw on for years to come and professional footage that demonstrates your calibre as a speaker.

“I’ve built a keynote I’m obsessed with”

I was craving space to consider what it is that I really want to say, to think more about the long term, and to set myself up for a new phase of business. This process is the perfect blend of carefully curated frameworks and actionable tasks that you can fit around running a business and everyday life.

The way Tamu has thought through every detail made finding untold clarity not just inevitable, but energising and enjoyable, which is just how it should be! When you take the time to be with this toolkit, expansion is not just possible, it is a given.

I’ve built a keynote I’m obsessed with, I know exactly which direction I want to go in next and no longer fear pitching to press!

Why work with me?

A woman is giving a speech or presentation on stage at a TEDx event in a large auditorium filled with seated audience members, with a large screen displaying her image and event branding.

I’m Tamu Thomas, author of Women Who Work Too Much, speaker and human flourishing specialist.

I’ve been speaking in front of audiences since 2010. Since 2019, I’ve delivered keynotes for organisations including NatWest, TikTok, Ralph Lauren and Stylist. Over the past two years, professional speaking has become my primary source of income.

However, my speaking experience started long before I stepped onto a conference stage.

During nearly 16 years as a social worker, I presented expert evidence in court, chaired complex meetings and learnt how to communicate with everyone from people with different learning needs to senior professionals and judges.

Those experiences taught me how to communicate complex information clearly, think on my feet and connect with very different audiences.

Since then, I’ve spent years studying the craft of speaking, examining what makes a speaker compelling and refining my own approach.

I’ve combined that experience with my expertise in somatic coaching to develop the Embodied Speaking Method.

It’s a practical approach to developing your speaking skills that recognises something important: your most compelling speaking style is your own.

I’m interested in helping you discover what makes you charismatic, develop the skills to express your ideas eloquently and become comfortable enough with your speaking to genuinely enjoy yourself.

I want to see more women on stages, being recognised, respected and well paid for sharing their expertise.

And I want you to be one of them.

Imagine where remarkable speaking could take you…

Imagine looking forward to your next speaking engagement because you know you have something worth saying and you’ve developed the skills to say it remarkably well.

Imagine delivering a keynote that feels unmistakably yours, enjoying the experience and knowing your ideas are making an impact.

Imagine becoming the speaker people remember, recommend and invite back.

You’ve already developed the expertise. Now develop the speaking ability to take it further.

Join me for the founding cohort of SpeakWell.
